In the second game of the current three-match series, India beat the West Indies by 59 points (DLS method), taking a 1-0 lead. Indian captain Virat Kohli was the star performer of the match, marking his 42nd century ODI.

1. Chris Gayle became the first West Indies cricketer to appear in 300 ODIs.

2. Virat Kohli became the first ODI scorer against the West Indies.

King Kohli broke Javed Miandad's 26-year record (1930 points), becoming the top scorer in terms of disputes against the West Indies. The Indian skipper also became the second-highest ODI points scorer for India, surpassing Sourav Ganguly. Most ODIs led by an Indian batsman:
