Virender Sehwag Says Kohli is Better than Smith

Another legendary player talks about the comparisons between Steve Smith and Virat Kohli. However, unlike others, Virender Sehwag has a simple answer. Sehwag said Indian skipper Virat Kohli was the better batsman than Steve Smith.

The former Indian opener said the Indian skipper's stick was more pleasing to look at than Smith's. Apart from that, he also mentioned that Team India would easily win the Test series between India Vs West Indies and complete a brush because the West Indies do not have quality players.

Despite his absence of more than a year, Steve Smith has relaunched his career in testing since he was banned from the South African series in March 2018. With a century in each of the two rounds of the first Test of the Ashes 2019 against England, Smith announced his return the biggest stage of world cricket, while claiming second place in the world in the ICC test rankings.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli has already proven to be the best in the industry, regardless of its formats. He already sits at the top of the ICC rankings and has always had a considerable impact on the game.

Despite Virat's dominance with the bat in all three formats of the game and an incredible rate of work, some critics still place Australian Steve Smith at the rank of best batsman among the two. However, the former Indian opener disagrees with this assessment, as he stated categorically that Kohli was well above Smith.

"Kohli is best Sehwag said Virat Kohli is a much better player than Steve Smith. If you look at Kohli and Smith (striking), Kohli looks much more pleasing as compared to Smith. He's the number one batsman in the world".

"Virat (Kohli) is currently the best batsman of era the way it scores for centuries, the way it scores short, it is the best. I'm sure he'll break most of Sachin Tendulkar's records.

Well, it would be interesting to see how things would go for both superstars. Virat Kohli is currently busy with the test series against the West Indies, while Steve Smith suffered a concussion and stayed out of Game 11 of the third Ash Test.
