Virat Kohli Hit Back at Critics for Dropping Rohit Sharma

Before the start of the first Test Virat Kohli's decision to play Hanuma Vihari before Rohit Sharma has attracted much criticism. Rohit was in superb form of delay. In the Summer World Cup, Rohit stands out from the rest of the team for his batting exploits.

India's the first game ended the World Cup as a top scorer after recording the tournament record of five tons. In the next T20I series against the West Indies, he scored an impressive 50 in the third game before scoring another fifty in the preseason game to prove his qualities. Even in his last Test match, Rohit scored 63 runs against Australia in Melbourne.

Unsurprisingly, Rohit's axe drew the impact of the flak. However, fortunately for Virat Kohli, he did not regret his decision to choose Vihari before Rohit. Vihari impressed with his racket as India beat the West Indies by 318 points. After scoring 32 runs in the first innings, Vihari scored 93 in the second innings and highest score in test career.

At the end of the match, Virat Kohli made it clear that Vihari had only received the assent for the combination desired by the team. Kohli, stressing Vihari's ability to bowl said the decision made after consultation with the entire team.

"Vihari received a nod because the combination is important. He is an effective part-time quilter and helps us when we have to catch up with the excessive rate. We have a group discussion, and then we decide what is best for the team. There will always be opinions on the XI, but people will know that it is in the interest of the team," said Virat Kohli.

India and the West Indies will now have their horns firmly anchored in the second and final test from 30 August.
