Sourav Ganguly Gives His Take On MS Dhoni’s Retirement

Sourav Ganguly Speaks On MS Dhoni’s Retirement

There are many question marks about the retirement of former Indian skipper MS Dhoni. Dhoni was expected to repeat his fantastic career after the completion of the World Cup that just ended. However, MS Dhoni did not announce his retirement and took the world by surprise. He requested a two-month break and joined the Indian army. Later, Sourav Ganguly, a former Indian captain, presented his views on mS Dhoni's controversial retirement.

The Prince of Kolkata thinks it depends on the plans of the team management as well as the selectors. Dhoni is not starting to be young, and his batting performance has also analysed. The right-hander's strike rate has decreased considerably, and many experts believe that Dhoni's time has passed. However, no one knows what awaits him except the man himself.

"To be honest, I don't know. It depends on how the team management thinks, how the selectors think. Dhoni is no longer young, and everyone made this decision at one time or another. So we'll have to wait another three or four months to figure out where this is going," Ganguly told Sportstar in an interview.

On the other hand, Rishabh Pant also took his opportunities with both sides, especially in the Test lap. Therefore, the think tank and the breeders are looking to give it more chances.

"Rishabh (Pant) is present. He's playing well all depends on the mentality of the selectors and what they think. It is a question of whether they want to look to the future. Only time will tell," he added.

MS Dhoni has always made decisions to improve Indian cricket. So if he felt like he wasn't contributing to the team as he should, he wouldn't take long to call his time. The wicket-keeper is not at the zenith of his prowess, and, understandably, he wants time to think about his future.

Meanwhile, India is currently playing its first Test championship game against the West Indies. The visitors have put their noses in front of them now have 260 points.
