Jofra Archer cricmela

England's skipper Joe Root said that he has no qualms about launching Jofra Archer's Test cricket runs into the cauldron of an ash clash at Lord's.

The 24-year-old, Barbados-born fast bowler Jofra Archer appears to have received his first test cap on Wednesday instead of the injured James Anderson as the hosts seek to return to level with Australia after a 251-run humiliation in the first match.

If selected, Jofra Archer will make his debut in the event on the ground where he shot down the decisive Super Over that sealed England's final World Cup victory over New Zealand last month.

Joe Root Said That:

Jofra Archer is certainly very confident and that's great to see in a young guy, as it should be after the World Cup. And, as he made very clear, it's his preferred format, so again I'm very excited to see at the beginning of his journey.

In any case, it will motivate you and when you get the chance, you will be desperate to show everyone how good he is. That's what you want and it won't shy away from the challenge.
Archer's inclusion would give England a real advantage as the Sussex sprinter can exceed 90 miles per hour (145 kilometers per hour) with the ball.

But Australian batsmen are used to fast-bowling and several members of his team have played against Archer in the recent World Cup or the Twenty20 cricket franchise.

Australian Skipper Tim Paine Said:

Many of our boys have seen Jofra Archer or faced him, which is an advantage.
He's been in white-ball cricket, but we've faced him in Australia, where conditions suit fast bowling. We've seen him at his best, they know what to expect, they know how skillful he is and how good he is. Like most bowlers who bowl on test cricket, there will be times when it will be a real threat and we will have to resist that.

Joe Root said:

Sam Curran, a left-arm sailor, could appear in Lord's after Moeen Ali fell, although the England patron did not name his XI a day in advance.

Sam is a brilliant talent and can change the game with his fantastic batting and bowling. His record is fantastic and has had a big impact on most of the games he's played and he's a promising young talent that I'm sure will play a lot of test cricket.
