Jemimah Rodrigues Fastest Century in KSL History
Jemimah Rodrigues scores the fastest century in KSL history for the Yorkshire Diamonds in a Kia Super League T20 match on Sunday. His 112 uncontested balls of 58 balls were put under pressure during a thrilling victory in the final against the Southern Vipers. The right-handed hitter had 17 fours and a six, allowing his team to attack a competitive total of 185 points with four players in reserve. This was the most successful pursuit against the Vipers in the mega event.
Rodrigues ended up hitting the 51 fastest balls among the hundred. In doing so, the thresher broke Lizelle Lee's fastest KSL ton record. Lee had recorded a century of 55 balls in 2017. The 18-year-old, with 341 points, is also ranked 2nd in the league's top scorer list.
Rodrigues became the first non-opener in the tournament to score points. In total, he is the 6th player to have a hundred under her belt in the Kia Super League. The versatile batting player reached the crease after skipper Lauren Winfield was fired on the second ball and she stayed until the end.
