Paytm Bags India’s Title Sponsorship Rights for 2019-2023
Paytm, an Indian online payment systems and digital portfolio company, has acquired sponsorship rights to Team India's international and national matches. Paytm will sponsor the team for the next four years, BCCI announced on Wednesday (21 August). The company will pay the INR board. 326.80 Crores in the next four years.
Paytm will continue to hold the rights after pocketing them for the first time in 2015, their previous offer being INR. 203.28 Crores.
"I am pleased to announce Paytm as title sponsor of the BCCI Home Series. Paytm is one of India's next-generation companies and at BCCI, we are proud that Paytm continues its long-standing engagement with Indian Cricket," said Rahul Johri, CEO of BCCI.
Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Founder, and CEO of Paytm, also welcomed the new transaction, saying:
"We are delighted to continue our long-term association with BCCI and the Indian cricket team. Our commitment to Indian cricket is growing every season. India loves cricket and at Paytm we are the biggest fans. "
India, meanwhile, is currently touring the West Indies Vs India for a series in its own right. After the tour, India will return home for a busy schedule. In the Caribbean, India has already won the T20I and THE IDOs. The men in blue have not yet lost a single game on the circuit, after winning the T20Is 3-0 and the FDI 2-0.
India will now face the West Indies in a two-game series, which begins on August 22. The match will begin India's campaign at the first ICC World Test Championship. India's home season will begin when South Africa tour for three T20I and three tries starting on September 15.
