Jason Holder won the Seventh West Indies Annual Awards
Jason Holder won the Men’s Best Player and Deandra Dottin won the women’s best player award, on the seventh annual awards night of the West Indies, Cricket WestIndies Awards Players Association that held in Antigua on Monday.
In addition to being recognized as the Player of the Year, Jason Holder was also named the Test Player of the Year. In what has been a good year for Men's West Indies cricket at home, and for Holder, in particular, the test captain had become the best all-rounder in the world, the first Antillean since Garry Sobers in 1974, shortly after scoring 202-runs against England batting at No. 8. As a bowler, he also hit 778 rating points, the most of an Antillean since Courtney Walsh in 2001.
Dottin, accomplish a clean sweep in the women's category, as she winning the Player of the Year, ODI Player of the Year, and T20I Player of the Year awards in Seventh Annual Awards. At ODI during the period, the all-in-force SUV made 207 runs in six innings and claimed 15 wickets. At T20Is, she embeds figures of 5 by 5, her best in this format, and was the best artist on the side at last year's World T20.
In the men's award category, Shai Hope, who scored 757 runs in 15 innings with an average of 63.08 during this period, was named the ODI's best player for the second year in a row.
Keemo Paul was named the men's best T20I player, while Andre Russell was named the T20 player of the Caribbean. Pacer Oshane Thomas was declared the Emerging Player of the Year, while Rakheem Cornwall was named the Championship Player of the Year. Joel Wilson won the best umpire of the Year award in seventh Annual West Indies Award.
